Arkansas Neurosurgery, Back, and Spine ClinicAbout the Clinic

Arkansas' Premier Neurosurgical Practice

“Surgeons must be very careful When they take the Knife! Underneath their fine incisions Stirs the Culprit- Life!”. Our mission at Arkansas Neurosurgery Brain and Spine Clinic - providing the highest quality of neurosurgical care while treating patients as conservatively as possible - parallels the poem of Emily Dickinson.

We offer comprehensive care for all spine, brain and peripheral nerve needs. Our specialty interests include treatment of Brain Tumors, Aneurysms and Arterial Venous Malformations, Hydrocephalus, Trigeminal Neuralgia, Pituitary Tumors, Stereotactic Linac Radiosurgery, Carpal Tunnel & Ulnar Nerve Entrapment, and the full spectrum of Spinal Disorders.

We would like to welcome Doctor Erdem, a specialist in Neuroradiology, as the newest member to our medical team.

Sterotactic Linac Radiosurgery is relatively new procedure for treating certain conditions with much improved accuracy and safety from conventional radiation treatment that is similar, but in several ways superior, to “The Gamma Knife”. Conditions treated include a variety of tumors, vascular malformations and trigeminal neuralgia.

Our comprehensive treatment of Spinal disorders includes both surgical and non-surgical treatment of radiculopathy and myelopathy due to Herniated Discs, Spinal Stenosis, Spinal Deformities, Trauma, Spondylolisthesis, as well as LBP and Neck Pain. We offer Outpatient Minimally Invasive Spinal Microsurgery, Fluoroscopically-guided Spinal Injections, Kyphoplasty as well as all forms of major Inpatient Spine care.

If not performed fluoroscopically into the epidural space, spinal injections are much less likely to be effective and carry higher risks. The “loss of resistance technique” without fluoroscopic confirmation is commonly used by many but allows no way of knowing if the injection goes into the paraspinal muscles or adipose tissue rather than the epidural space. To ensure their accuracy, we personally perform spinal injections for our patients using surgical sterility and technique with fluroscopic guidance at an outpatient surgery center.
